Project Description:

The Three Rivers Landfill is located in Pontotoc, MS.  The Three Rivers Regional Solid Waste Authority entered into a partnership with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and Pontotoc Electric Power Association (PEPA) under the TVA Green Energy Partners Program to provide green electricity to the TVA grid.  The project became operational in 2012.  The 1 megawatt generator provides electricity to approximately 800 area homes in the community.  The facility represents the second municipal solid waste landfill to install and operate a Landfill Gas-To-Electricity Generating facility in the state of Mississippi.

Contribution:

FE&C personnel assisted with Air Permitting, Landfill Gas Collection System (GCCS) Design, Contract/Technical Specification Preparation, Construction CQA, and Treatment System/Flareskid Performance Specification Preparation.
